Course Overview Course Overview

This 2.5 day course is designed to improve and hone precision shooting skills for all experience levels. Course covers firearms safety, supported shooting positions, marksmanship fundamentals, ins and outs of your rifle, internal, external, data book familiarization, spotter responsibilities, range estimation techniques and scope theory. You will have your rifle/ammo chronographed and will receive a ballistic computer generated data card out to 1054YD which will be shot for verification.

Prone shooting will be used extensively. We do not have bench rests.

Lunch is provided.

Prerequisites: Basic working knowledge of external ballistics and range estimation.

Gear List Gear list

  • Scope rifle capable of 1MOA or better.
    • Your scope ring torque specs(if availabale)
  • Ammo: 200(min) rounds of match grade.
    • NO armor piercing, steel core or tracer ammo.
    • Velocity of less than 3000 feet per second.
  • Rifle scope with target turrets is mandatory.
    • Mil or MOA measuring reticles are preferred.
  • Quality rifle mounted bipod (or plan to shoot of your pack)
  • Quality rear support bag.  If you don't have one, bring an old boot sock.
  • Pack to carry gear and ammunition.
  • Eye and ear protection.
  • Clothing suitable for indoor/outdoor training.
  • Snacks and beverages.
  • Camp chair for down time.
